High Mileage Taurus

By Mark C.

I wanted to let you know that my Taurus has over 400,000 miles on it and still runs like a charm. The only major item I have had to replace is the transmission. The body only has a small rust spot. Everyone ask me when I plan on replacing my Taurus and getting something new but why replace something that is still running. This was the first Ford that I had ever bought and you can bet that when the car decides that it has had enough I will be at the nearest Ford Dealer looking for another one. So, thank you Ford for making an excellent product.

My 2008 Taurus has 257,000 miles and has had no major repairs.  Just general maintenance, tires, brakes, transmission fluid changed once.

My 2001 Ford Taurus has 215,245. I've changed head gasket, new radiator, heater core, and other minor parts like sensors. 3.0 ohv engine. Hope the transmission hangs in there.

And I was impressed that my 2003 Windstar has 160,000 miles on it! That doesn't put a dent in some of these mileage figures.

My Ford Taurus is a 1992 or so and it was my grandmas, it has currently 809,000 miles on it, still running needs minor work done but it still runs lol gotta love that car. Sure is a trooper.

My Taurus now has 229,000 miles, mostly highway. Have done fair share of repairs. Valve replacement at 174,000, ac compressor and other repairs. Just did fuel pump and ac lines and accumulator. It has original transmission and engine(did do the valve job). NOw that it has so many miles I'm starting to get nervous and hoping no more repairs for awhile. I like the car not as well as my 2002 with 125,000 and 2006 with 50,000 but I still like the car nonetheless. I'm driving it as long as I can so then I'll have my 2002 which I like better with fewer miles. My husband has a 2002 focus, has done almost no repairs despite my mechanic warning that they weren't the best cars. So, as u can see I love Ford.

I have 1998 Ford Explorer. It has 248000 miles. New transmission just 6 months ago. No other major repairs. Looks and runs great.

Hi, I have a 2001 Taurus with almost 221,000 miles on it. I love the car but can't say I haven't done my share of repairs. It has original transmission, valve job done at 174,000 miles, AC compressor replaced, the rest are smaller repairs but nonethless costly. Mostly my fault. I let it idle alot when stopped. All highway miles. I've maintained it with oil changes and flushes, etc. Overall, I like the car, could have done with fewer repairs but it is driven alot. About 40 to 45k a year. My husband has been after me to get rid of it since it had 100k and a buy a VW. But I like the car and I will drive another Ford.

2004 Taurus with 165,000...runs great, and this summer we have had 100 degree plus temps, and the AC is great

i have a 1998 Ford Taurus with the Vulcan motor and it has 158,000 miles on it and still runs good. No rust land the original motor and transmission.

My 2002 Ford Taurus has 330,000 miles with original engine & transmission. It is still going strong. The 24-valve V6 Duratec engine is great.

Mine is a 2004 Taurus and it has 243,000 miles on it already! Everyone tell me that car is not going to last long, but i beg to differ. It has all highway miles and was so well maintained that it has a long way to go before it says "no more."
