Take Pride In Your Work

Chairman Bill Ford,

Yesterday afternoon, Wednesday, September 18, 2013 my daughter Christiane, 2 year old grandson Ethan, and her boyfriend Alex were involved in a serious auto accident. My daughter was driving a 2012 Ford Focus. She was broadsided by a truck traveling at high rate of speed which ran the light. The other driver hit the Focus in the right-front passenger-side quarter-panel and effectively sheared the engine compartment off the vehicle. All three were taken to the Breckenridge trauma center in Austin, Texas.

My daughter and grandson were discharged with minor injuries that evening, and her boyfriend will be discharged tomorrow. The Focus crumpled as designed, and the seats, seat belts, air bags and car seat harness all performed flawlessly and exactly when they were needed. We would like to express our deepest appreciation to the people of the Ford Motor Company for intelligently incorporating the collective wisdom of a century of auto manufacturing into the safety of your vehicles, and for the high build quality of your products.

Our lives could have changed yesterday afternoon, but they did not, and we attribute that in great part to the people at Ford. Although the other driver made a serious error in judgement, he was driving an F-150 and was uninjured.

Thanks again and have a great day.
