Driving Miss Lucas

I met my wife in a 65 Ford U.S. Air Force Staff Car in Alaska. You can't find a more romantic story than that. I was stationed at Elemendorf AFB as a VIP staff car driver. I drove for high ranking military officers and civilians. One day the dispather told me to go to building T-7191 and pick up Ms Lucas and take her to the Federal Building in Anchorage. I picked up Ms Lucas, waited for her to complete her business and brought her back to base.

Well I was Love from the get go. Her beautiful smile and personality did me in. I asked the dispatcher to send me any time she needed a ride and I was available. He did and our relationship grew. We married in 1969 and have a son named James. We have been happily married now for 43 years. We live in New Jersey where I am from.

I still drive her around in our Fords but now she sits up front.

Incredible vintage picture. Those were such great cars. The full size Fords of the 60's and 70's did America proud.
