MOVE THE BATTERY TO THE TRUNK AND PUT AIR FILTER IN THE BATTERY AREA.

What about freeing up front engine space for maintanance and more natural air for cooling.

1) You don't say what model your referring to!

2) Depending on the model, I'd agree. No necessarily for more airflow, but if we're talking about a hi-performance car (Focus ST, Mustang) it can help with weight distribution (which is why it's usually done). A battery is HEAVY. Moving close to 50 pounds to the trunk can honestly make a difference in handling.

3) Once again, depends on the model. Can the battery be put in an area where it won't be a "bother". It wouldn't work well to have the battery in the center, behind the rear seats if the seats fold down! Somewhat flush to the right side, or "hidden" a right corner may work, which would compensate for some of the driver's weight on the left. Shelby did it on the early GT350s!
