New Ford Super Car or upgraded production line Mustang to beat the Corvette!!

I'm sick and tired of Chevy people mouthing about how Ford has nothing to compete with the Corvette ZR1. I know the 2013 Shelby is a good competitor but its not enough. Ford needs a production vehicle that can easily compete and beat the Corvette. Maybe come out with a new vehicle all together? Or maybe just bring back one of the older models like the Ford GT.

I am tired of waiting for Ford to compete with the ZR1.  I am about to buy an srt Viper.  Why? Because the Viper inherited the Daytona Coupe dna.  The Daytona Coupe was the first Ferrari killer and was the brainchild of Ford's best - Carroll Shelby and Peter Brock.  No matter what anybody else says or makes, the Daytona Coupe is the quintessential American car with superior performance in its day.  Ford abandoned the Daytona Coupe, and Government Motors can do nothing except produce a counterfeit.  Now, Ford is content to be the champion of the minor league (pony car class), but the major league (sports car or supercar class) now belongs to the true American champion - srt Viper TA.  Ford is no longer a leader in the ultimate level of performance - and this so by Ford's choice.  This is not what Henry Ford envisioned when he proved his car's superiority in a race!  In a race!  Now that's American! That is what Ford used to be, and that is what the srt Viper is now.  I used to bleed Ford blue, but the more I learned about Henry Ford, Carroll Shelby, Peter Brock, and what the Daytona Coupe was all about, I can't help but think that Ford is a shadow of itself.  I have driven Mustangs since I was 18 (I am now 58). I still own a Saleen and it is a very good car - but it is inferior in performance to the ZR1 and the Viper. The racing world was first brought to its knees before America because of the Daytona Coupe, and I am glad that I have a chance to buy its descendant.

Ford GT with the new 5.8L Engine from the 2013 Shelby GT500. Too bad the GTX-1 wasn't given more time to shine. Ford could even go all out, R&D Make a new 7.0L (429 CID) with Ti-VCT, and a few of the other goodies from the 5.0 (Oil Squirters, Variable intake runner length technology, etc.) Maybe even add some Titanium Rods for less reciprocating mass and stronger bottom ends. Bring a little more of the racing technology to the road.

Why not restore the Thunderbird to that level? As i understood it, that was the original intent for that model.
