diesel/electric propulsion

mount a flat opposed six cylinder turbo diesel between frame rails under bed of heavy duty truck (f250-450)with a shaft going to front of truck that turns a generator. this would allow additional room upfront for cooling of engine and generator. use pancake motors to drive all four wheels or a auto trans coupled to rear of engine with independant suspension and airbags for heavy loads in back and electric assist drive in front for 4 wheel drive. I think electric propulsion is the next step for heavy duty trucks because the engine can remain at constant rpm and the torque can be applied through constant speed drive to keep generator turning at optimal revolution for power. my two cents
