coyote 5.0 in the Expedition and F-150; Ecoboost V-6 in the new Explorer

love to get the performance and economy of your new 5.0 in the F-150 and the Expedition. I have an 08 Shelby GT and really want the new Shelby GT350, but also have a 02 Tahoe and need to replace that more. The new Explorer looks really nice but hope you put a severe service/police package with the Ecoboost V-6 in it. That and the 2012 Expedition with the 5.0 would really smoke Chevy and the foreign brands.
i have a business reason as well...i serve as the EMS Coordinator for a very busy fire department and really need a dependable versatile vehicle, when they replace my currently assigned ancient Suburban, and it would be great for it to be a Ford with the performance, and economy that the Ecoboost V-6 in the new Explorer and the Coyote 5.0 would offer in the Expedition instead of seeing so many Tahoe's and Suburbans.
Thanks so much for giving us a forum for input, it shows Ford's commitment to your customers.

Exactly, why on earth is the 5.4 being used at all anymore? Did they have 100,000 extras laying around that they needed to 'use up'. They are 3 model years late, and consequently at least 40,000+ sales short over that period because of nothing more than the outdated engine. I'd have replaced my F-150 with an expedition/navigator ecoboost right now if it was available...

I totally agree. The Coyote engine is great and would be perfect in the Expedition. I am getting a new SUV soon and an Expedition King Ranch with the Coyote is perfect.

Where does the Expedition always get criticized by reviewers? The Engine power and fuel economy. Getting rid of that outdated 5.4 Triton would solve both these problems, and save the company money because they wouldn't need to make this engine anymore because this and the Navigator (twin) are the last vehicles to use it.
