2015+ RWD Lincoln Continental RETURN

Dear Ford,

Im sure youve heard from alot of people about what to market, some reality based and some not, but after long thought into how to bring the beloved Lincoln brand 'back' to its 60's iconic status, its seems a new full-size RWD sedan is in order. For real punch, a 5.8 DOHC V8 in NATURALLY ASPIRATED form could be harvested from the '13 SVT for a real world 485 horsepower/lb-ft torque and 25+ MPG with your developing 8-speed auto. If you wanted to take it to legend status (harking to the original Lincoln Zephr), you could develop a 4.6 block based DOHC V12, at 6.9L and at least 600 horsepower. Ecoboost 3.5 V6 for the base option (truck tune for more torque), with the 8-speed, could be class leading 28+ MPG highway. Possibly a manual option, for a few real enthusiasts. Modern yet retro-inspired like the new MKZ (think 1969 Continental body, with aero Thunderbird type front end, something to that affect). Of course new Lincoln ride control, AWD option, plush interior, glass roof option, tons of tech, full size cabin, low wieght materials, SUICIDE REAR DOORS. Invest in Lincoln today or else it will die a death of a thousand cuts!

Sincerely,
Everyone

Wow - A lot of great comments here... I concur with several. I myself have been a devout Mercury Grand Maquis Owner; I've owned a '87, '97, 2003 and currently a 2006. I wish they would have kept the Mercury line as an alernative choice for those who are unable to afford a Lincoln, but wanted a slightly higher class vehicle from Ford.

Would love to see it in my driveway.

Please bring back the continental, ford has taken the wrong route with the Lincoln brand. Also a bad choice was to discontinue mercury, the grand marquis was your bread and butter.i'm afraid Cadillac is miles ahead of you now.....

the black 2015 unathorized version pictured online with the retro front end treatments on blekkos site is awe inspiring. its a " copy" of a 1965 continental but modern, kinda looks like a rolls body with the 60s treatment. it would be stunning in light blue or cream color with saddle interior. the high edge front fenders with suicide doors.

The ultimate engineering & luxury of the 30's Lincoln, the first successful application of streamlining on the Zephers, the artful elegance of the original Continentals of the 40's, the modern classic Mark ll of '56 & '57, the restrained elegance of the 60's 4 doors sedan & convertible.  This is Lincon and this is what is missing in the current pretty, but merely gussied up Fords that are labled as today's Lincoln.  I've see your fabulous concept cars, so I know you can do it.  Why don't you?  Please save this legendary mark

Yes please, bring back the Lincoln Town Car (rwd) Luxury and powerfull, v8, of course, I will buy it with close eyes.

Yes! Please! Bring back an updated version of the 1969 four door Lincoln Continental. I think there's nothing more regal and unique than reversed, rear-doors. A four door convertible option would be nice too. Make mine pearl-white thank you!

Angel C. has all the right ideas for the 2015 Continental!  rwd, at least a V-8, definitely a manual trans option and the return of the suicide doors.  We are in the 55-62 age group and ready to spend the funds for this car the minute it is available for ordering.  This vehicle will sell and set a new record/goal for Lincoln...

As a proud Lincoln LS owner....You need to bring back something that can compete with the Germans...You "were" on the right track with the LS, then cut off the head in 2006! Should have a LS Ecoboost with RWD!...oh and the great handeling suspension that the LS's have! BOOM!

Rwd lincoln with an NA V8 and a Ford version with an ecoboost V6 and maybe a hot V8 version. As soon as possible.

Put the 5.0L Coyote in the SHO and reserve the 3.5L Ecoboost for the Lincoln Continental Sedan and perhaps the return of the 4.6L V8 but twin-turbo charge it to compete with Caddy's upcoming 4.5L TTV8, for the Continental Coupe.

Bring back the TC. Nothing you currently make looks like what a Lincoln should look like. Big , powerful, comfortable , luxurious. A car with presence. Even movie producers know to use a TC when trying to convey elegance and power in their productions.I have had several and am holding on to my last one until you bring the concept back.

Upgrade the Lincoln Town Car. I'm in the livery business. Closed trunk space is needed. Add whatever "cool" state-of-the-art options you want, but my customers up here in Canada where winters are cold, want inside warmth when luggage is put in the trunk - not outside air like is now present with the crossover hatchback! Bring back the revised Lincoln Town Car!

a modernized look of the 66 continental in hardtop and convertable would be great. A full sized convertable with a usable back seat would be great to bring back. I'd buy one!
Bill J 12/22/2012
The MKS and MKT are not at the Lincoln Continental level of luxury and style. Please make a modernized Continental or Lincoln Town Car. Please invest less time in dashboard gadgetry (which doesn't even work when my dealer tries to demo it) and more time in a big RWD or AWD Lincoln Sedan.

Manual Transmission Option for all vehicles!!

Bringing Lincoln back to it's original form, with a retro look would be cool,I agree with a powerful engine, and a 8 speed transmission.
