Diesel in the F-150

I know this has been beaten to death but PLEASE put a small fuel efficient Diesel in the F-150. I'm not asking for a huge heavy 6+ liter.. I'm talking more like a 3 or 4 liter turbo V-6 diesel...

I currently own the 2011 F-150 EcoBoost because it's the closest option to a diesel you offer in regards to power, performance and economy but I would prefer a more rugged diesel option....

Please Ford.... A Diesel is needed in the F-150!!!

I would love to see a 3 or 4 cylinder diesel offered and then expand it into the ranger and cars, wouldn't that be nice!

I often need to haul my motorcycle in the bed of a pickup but I'm not willing to buy a pickup as my daily driver because of the terrible fuel mileage. The small pickups offer slightly better fuel economy but the beds are too short to fit my motorcycle. The EcoBoost is a step in the right direction but what I'd really like to see is a small turbo-diesel option that gets better fuel economy in the F150 chassis. It would satisfy the needs of people like me that sometimes need the capabilities of a full size pickup but also need the vehicle to have good enough MPGs to be a daily driver.

A friend of mine just completed a 6 month project.

He bought one of those cab over Isuzu NPR box trucks with a 4 cylinder turbo Diesel from an equipment auction. After months of fabrication and modifications he finally has it installed in a 97 F-150.... It runs and drives great and after only a couple weeks of driving it to work, he is telling me he is getting 34 mpg's..

I've driven it and it drives surprisingly well...... Decent off the line get up and go but where it excels is when he pulls a trailer... It's great for pulling his horse trailer... Pulls it with ease!

Ford needs to develop their own Diesel for the F-150 and market it... I think it would be a good seller. I'd buy one if it performed like the EcoBoost does.

Yep....I don't need a heavy F-250 to pull my travel trailer and I want fuel economy when I'm not towing so a Diesel option would be awesome as long as Ford didn't make it a $5000 option. I love my EcoBoost but I am concerned that there will not be the longevity if I use it for heavy towing. A Diesel option would eliminate that concern

I received an article the other day from a ford truck fan site that stated Ford was doing R & D on this option. Maybe, hopefully one day it will happen.

I've been reading about the diesel in EU that gets 65 miles per gal. How about it. Why are we having to wait. If you could put it into a Fo-150 I'd buy.

I am with you on a Diesel F-150!!
Excellent towing capabilities and fuel mileage!
