Heated wheel wells

Heating strips mounted along the wheel wells to prevent the buildup of slush and ice during the winter.

I was thinking the same thing. The benefit would be twofold: 1) eliminate having to kick free that frozen sludge and get your pants and shoes dirty, 2) improve tire performance by melting ice built up in the tire tread.

I would imagine it could work much like your rear window defrost. This would seem to fit with the growing trend of heated seats, steering wheels, and side mirrors. If they can make mini-windshield wipers for front headlights, this improvement would be a no-brainer in cold weather climates.
