Maker Faire To Showcase Invention and Creation in Southeast Michigan

By Sean J.

What do you get when you let loose a group of passionate engineers, builders, crafters and artists to collaborate and build?

The Maker Faire, and it’s coming to Dearborn, Michigan.

For the uninitiated, the Maker Faire is an event created by Make magazine that’s aimed at celebrating the do-it-yourself culture. It’s filled with displays that showcase the imagination and innovation skills of a variety of “makers.”

It’s a celebration of creation, where people build, learn and become inspired. It’s like a hands-on, super-charged arts & crafts expo with workshops and demonstrations that will dazzle the eye and feed the creative side.

Sound interesting? Check it out this July 27-28th at The Henry Ford in Dearborn.

If you’re in the neighborhood, swing by the Ford Movers & Makers display to see the 2014 Ford Transit Connect Wagon while you collaborate with fellow festival-goers inside artist Brandon Regner’s maker-inspired DJ booth.

The Movers & Makers display was turning some heads at the San Francisco Maker Faire earlier this year. You can see what all of the buzz was about and get another look at the all-new 2014 Ford Transit Connect Wagon in the video above.

Also be sure to check out the Movers & Makers Tumblr Blog . You’ll find plenty of inspiration for the passionate do-it-yourselfer and plenty of material to keep your imagination flowing ahead of the Maker Faire.
