Ford Variety is the Spice of Life

By Ford Social Member

TheFordStory is all about variety, as long as it relates to Ford! This week is a great example. You’ve posted plenty of Your Stories ranging from the durability of older Ford Explorers to a customer review of his 2012 Ford Fiesta. We’ve been serving up that same variety with this week’s posts ranging from an Ecoboost™ fuel economy challenge to the high-horsepower antics of Ken Block in Gymkhana FOUR. And let’s not forget our most commented on post, “Do You Think Ford Technology is User Friendly ,” or our most shared article this week, “Join us at the Woodward Dream Cruise .”

It’s not too late for you to get in on the action. If you haven’t submitted your story yet, go to Your Stories and submit yours today! You can include a photo or a video. You can also submit an idea to Ford by going to Your Ideas.

Here is what’s new on this week:

Journey to 300,000 Miles

I purchased a Pre-Owned 1996 Explorer 4×4 back in 1998 from a Ford Dealership in Maryland just outside of Washington DC. I work as a Realtor and practically live on the road. I’ve used my Explorer to escort clients, haul dogs, chariot romantic dates, and move my house three times over the years. Read more…

My First Car…

It’s not really Montego, it’s Mondeo 2002 (European) but it’s not on the list – My first car ever… I’m very satisfied of that car. Maybe it’s not new but I love this car! Read more…

One Solid Ford

Use to own a 98 chevy blazer that left me stranded 24/7. Got rid of it to find an old 98 ford expedition that i bought for a thousand bucks. 325,000 miles and still runnin like new. Lots of power in that old 5.4 and will climb any trail it’ll fit on even in 2wd.  Read more…

Ltd to Mustang

My first car was a dark green re-possessed 1965 LTD convertible, 289 automatic with a bad motor and broken rear glass. Well, I replaced the bad motor with a fairly new 289 and had a new rear glass window installed. The car was a blast, especially with the top down. But that wasn’t fast enough, I swapped the 289 for a 390 4-speed; then moved to a used ‘69 Mach 1, 351W, auto. Read more…

Quality Worth Waiting For

My friends and family know me to be very particular in the things that I buy. I only like the best, and I tend to go for things that offer more features, quality, practicality, and value than its competitors. Read more…

Do You Think Ford Technology Is User Friendly?

People either love or hate technology, but even if you’re in the latter camp, you know you’re going to have to live with it, because it’s not going anywhere. And truthfully, we’re on to you: You might have fought the idea of a smartphone, but we know you finally broke down and got one “just for emergencies,” which has since been downgraded to texts that read, “Running late, be there in five, lol.” Read more…

Join Us at the Woodward Dream Cruise!

One of the best things about summer is the endless stream of car shows, and you know the best part about car shows? That’s right, it’s – wait, who shouted “food trucks and food on a stick!”? True, those are a close second and third, but holding the number one position for us is the opportunity to see so many Ford vehicles of the past and present! And this Saturday, August 20, 2011, rain or shine, will be a huge car event you’ll want to check out. It’s the Woodward Dream Cruise, where about 1.5 million visitors and 40,000 antique and classic cars from across the country are expected to partake in the annual event! Read more…

Can You Beat the MPG of the F-150 EcoBoost Challenge Competitors?

With the past couple of years of higher fuel prices in the U.S., many people have honed their driving skills. Instead of trying to set better lap times on a road course, they are trying to beat their previous best fuel economy. There’s even a name for it – hypermiling – defined by the New Oxford American Dictionary as the practice of making adjustments to a vehicle or using driving techniques that will maximize the vehicle’s fuel economy. How to Train Your Mustang

Well, really it’s how to train owners of the 2012 Mustang Boss 302 how to get the most from their new ride. And a darn good excuse to spend a day on the track, exercising the Boss 302 under the conditions it was made for. Perhaps the best part Boss Track Attack Days is that it’s complimentary owners of the 2012 Mustang Boss 302! The Boss Track Attack takes place at Miller Motorsports Park near Salt Lake City, Utah.
