My 1986 Ford Ranger w/ a 2.9 V6 has made many trip to the U.P/ from Fl. and back and hasover 500,000 miles on it. Thi ain’t your Grandpa’s engine, or even your Dads!
Auto makers such as Mercedes Benz and Volvo reward customer loyalty by giving the owner high mileage badges when a car reached a certain mileage milestone (100k, 250k, ect.). These badges can be installed on the grill, acting like a trophy to other motorists to the dependability of the machine. I wish Ford would start up their own high mileage club and award these badges to their customers when the mileage can be verified. Given the masses of high mileage fords out there, seeing these badges on the road would sink into minds of customers of the reliability and dependability of Ford vehicles.
