When I moved from Seattle to New Hampshire, one of the longest legs of the journey was crossing central and eastern Montana. 5-speed 4-liter Ranger, Air Conditioning, no cruise control. Straight highways and generous speed limits couldn’t help the rigid right foot feeling. (truth be told, for some of it i drove with my left). But fully loaded, kept going strong without a hiccup.
Eventually, Montana gives way to North Dakota. New scenery. Then Minnesota and the great lakes. Five great days to cross this continent.
