Walked Away From The Largest Tornado Ever.
JUN
06

We were hit by the largest tornado ever recorded on Friday 31 May 2013 in my truck. The EF-5 tornado had winds measured as high as 296 mph. My 2011 F-150 was picked up, thrown, and rolled about four times before coming to rest in a wheat field 100 yards away from where we started. We all walked away from the event with only minor injuries. The side curtain airbags deployed, and all four doors were still able to be easily opened despite the vehicle landing on the front passenger’s roof during one of the rolls. When we stopped moving, we were upright in the field and able to get in and out of the vehicle as needed.

Thank you to the engineers who developed the safety features of my F-150 that allowed us to walk away from this. I’ll be getting another F-150 as soon as I can!

Konstantinos Wow, screw electric cars! I am definitely getting a FORD truck as my next vehicle. I have FORD now but not a truck and always thought electric would be "cool". The heck with electric lol

fordfamily My dad sold Fords from 1954 up until he died in 2002. He stood by the brand and by the company. That was back in the day when people took pride in what they did and who they worked for. He would have been so proud of this truck and how these people lived through that. I can see his smile.

Wyatt I have been involved in a roll-over in my 1999 F-250, walked away from it. And my sons, wife and daughter were in an F-250 roll-over and all walked away with minor injuries. Will never own anything but a Ford.

Joe Glad to hear that everyone in the truck are ok, Ford should give this guy a new truck for a great and one of a kind customer review of their product and pay this gentlemen to do a ford truck commercial for them displaying his truck as proof that Ford trucks save Lives!

Terry Wow. I've never considered a Ford truck before. Stories like THIS make me stop and seriously consider the Ford. Viral stories like these are authentic, high priced ad campaigns are not. Ford, thank you for your engineers, for the sake of these persons, and you definitely got a new customer taking some serious hard looks at your product(s).

Rick Bayles Sounds like a FREE loaded Raptor should be on it's way to Oklahoma within the next few days! Like Jack Daniels said, 'you can't buy publicity better than this'.

F150 Owner Ford Motor Company should give this Gentleman a new F-150 for the endorsement, and literally "Field-Testing" the F-150's safety features! There is a reason they call it "Built Ford Tough". Seriously... So glad to hear that the occupants walked away from it. Our thoughts and prayers are with the folks in Oklahoma.

Richard I drive a 20 year old Ford Ranger. But Ford needs to come out with an Oklahoma tough addition of the F 150.

Jack Daniels Ford should give this guy a brand new Ford truck, if for no other reason than the PR you will garnish from this story. You just can't buy this kind of advertisement or publicity. C'mon Ford....give him a new truck
