On July 23, 2010, my 18 year old son, Kyle, and his 17 year old friend were heading to work on a ranch in East Bell County. It was Kyle’s turn to drive. We bought him a 2005 Ford F-150 Texas Edition for his 16th birthday. Kyle took great care of his truck. The boys were also half way to the ranch when an elderly man crossed the center line on the two lane road and hit my son’s truck … head on. The force of the impact was so strong that it literally buckled the floor boards of the truck on the driver’s side. I could have lost my son and his friend that morning … had it not been for his Ford truck! These pictures give new meaning to the phrase “Built Ford Tough”! My son’s left leg was pinned in the wreckage, but he was able to break off parts of his interior of his truck and climb out of the passenger side of his truck. His friend was hit by something that cut the left side of his face close to his eye. My son ended up having a concussion, 6 stitches in his right knee, and a sprained left foot. His friend suffered a small cut by his eye. Other than some scrapes and bruises …. the boys were ok. The truck was totaled!! But the boys were going to be ok. It was the scariest phone calls I ever received, a mother’s worst nightmare! NEEDLESS to say …. we are looking for another Ford truck for my son to drive back and forth to Texas A&M University in a few weeks. I FIRMLY believe in Ford’s quality. Thank you, Ford Motor Company, for building a safe vehicle for my son to drive!!! Your truck protected my son and his friend! Words will never express how blessed I feel. These pictures ARE worth a thousand words. I believe in “BUILT FORD TOUGH”!!!
