Tough As Nails!!!!!!

On Jan 17th 2013 I thought it would be a nice day to take my dog, Sadie, out to the desert and let her run around for a while. It was a beautiful day outside. So we headed to the local river that’s only about ten miles away from home. Everything was going good. I saw a hill and on top of the hill was a big open filed. Thought to myself “this is the perfect place to let Sadie run lose”. But little did I know that the hill had a hidden secret. Only about a foot from the top in the blind zoon was a washed out section that was about an 8ft drop off. And drop like a rock we did! Sadie hit the windshield then bolted out of the truck like a bat out of hell! I turned off the truck, opened my door and haphazardly jumped out. Sadie run back to me and gave me and the truck a tilted head look of, WTF man! I was so shocked I was frozen stiff! Standing there for a good chunk of time staring at what seemed to be an unbelievable turn of events. I’ve been going off road out here in this river for 13 years! Over those years I’ve seen my fair share of people doing some amateur stuff but I have never been so careless off road before. As I came to my senses I called my best friend to my aid. I walked 3 miles back out to meet him. Happy that he was coming to help I was also sad as I know that his truck was in no shape to make it thought the thick sand and if it could it was way to light on power and weight to pull me out of this truck sized hole. We stood there looking at my truck analyzing where to start cutting the dirt from underneath the truck to better its angle when someone on a quad drove up. The stranger said not to feel bad as I wasn’t the first truck in the last few months to be bested by the hole. The stranger called some friends but no luck. Seemed that I was going to be here for a long time when luck happened on my side and sent us another Ford F150 4X4 our way. To my surprise we had my truck out in no time flat! And to all of our disbelief my truck had very little damage. Looked like I rear-ended a 1990’s civic at 2mph! All the head lamps were good! The truck works and drives like the day I bought it!!! No leaks! Barley a scratch! CRAZY! A new valance and a quick tug on the lower bumper and she’ll look as good as new! I love this truck!!!
