On May 9th, 2011 at 4:30pm, my husband and 2 small sons were driving to my 4 yr old’s t-ball game. While stopped at a red light my husband’s 2008 Ford F-150 was rear-ended at 65mph. The impact was so significant that my son’s shoes flew off and the car that hit my husband had it’s engine completely ripped out. Suprisingly, the F-150 only had “cosmetic damage”. This was because, according to the dealership, the vehicles’s safety features worked as designed: both of the bumpers folded under to protect all of the vital parts beneath the truck. What was amazing, though, was that neither my husband or either of my boys were hurt. The police officer said that they were lucky to have been in the F-150, or (due to such a significant impact) my boys might not be here….I credit Ford for saving my sons’ lives. I currently drive a different make of vehicle and have had no issues. However, after this incedence, I am looking to buy a Ford Edge. I want to thank you for making a vehicle that lives up the the highest quality and standards…..your products truly are “Ford Tough”.
