My 11yr old daughter, our 75lb dog and I were traveling from Charlotte to Buffalo on 12-26-2012 to celebrate X-mas with our family. We were traveling on HWY 70/74 near Pitt when we were hit by a Hit and Run driver. Our King Ranch was hit hard and we went off the HWY and down a hill in the median. Our truck flipped end over end and then rolled over twice.
The vehicle was totaled but neither my daughter nor I had a scratch on us. The dog was in the back seat “crew area” on a blanket and ended up with front paws on top of the front dash and hind paws on the center counsel and was shaking but was not injured. Somehow no mobile phone (3 loose in truck), iPad, X-mas gifts for family, laptop and tools for trip hit any of us.
First responders to the scene who saw the accident, upon finally opening the door said….”This truck saved your lives; it was a spectacular and incredible scene watching this truck flip and roll and we cannot believe you walk away without even going to hospital”
I have a HUGE THANK YOU to Ford Motor Company to offer. Built Ford Tough means something…it is not just a nice catch phrase. My daughter is the most important thing in my life and I have Ford to thank for her well being and still being here. I cannot express my gratitude and sincere appreciation to all of Ford enough. This is a true yet unbelievable story. I am now shopping to go buy another F150 King Ranch (2013 Kodiak Brown!), although we loved the other and miss it; we have no complaints although it will be a financial drain with no trade to buy a 2013 and keep payments reasonable, this is something we will do in the next 15 days. I do not think we would be have come out so well in another vehicle and I think the world needs to know Quality, Safety, Reliability and the American Spirit is ALIVE AND WELL at FORD.
Respectfully,
Joe
