My wife, daughter, labrador Betsy and I were traveling home to Western PA for Christmas from Virginia. About 2 hours from home we drove into the worst blizzard that I had driven in in about 20 years. We were in the mountains heading to and through Uniontown, PA. We could only see about 20ft ahead of us, it was night time and if we were lucky there was one set of vehicle tracks to follow to stay on the road. With Sassy- our F150 in 4 wheel drive we went up and down the mountains at a steady 35mph. I thought of helping them with my tow strap but didn’t want to risk causing more issues on the side of a mountain. We passed front wheel drive vehicles getting stuck going up the mountains, and we pressed on for 30+ miles through the winter wonder land to Grandma’s house with the 6.5ft bed packed with luggage and gifts. We were so thankful to be traveling in our F150 crew cab with all the technology to handle the deep slippery snow that laid like a blanket in front of us for what seemed like a 3 hour tour of the great white north. The traction was supurb as well as the breaking and down shifting. I don’t know how many prayers were said as we trudged up and down the slopes, but we had God on our shoulders and a finely built American piece of machinery under us. I was so happy to have our F150 and the purchase was surely validated on that Christmas trip home.
