I have been a carpenter for 23 years and I have been driving Ford trucks since I could drive. 10 years ago in 2004 I found myself in need of newer truck so I found a 1995 Ford F-150 with 115,000 miles on it for $8,000 at a used car dealership. After taking it to my mechanic and having him look at it I decided to buy it. Turns out that was the best decision I have ever made when it came to vehicles. I consider myself an outdoors type man, so along with being a reliable work truck in my business, it has also been great for my recreational life. During the summer we usually pull our pontoon boat with my F-150 2 hours north to the lake which includes several steep highway inclines during the heat of the summer. And i’m proud to say that this truck has made all of the trips without any mechanical problems at all.
During late summer and into the winter comes the time when I really put my truck to the test, you see I am first and foremost a dedicated bow hunter. Not owning my own land or having the good luck of being able to hunt private ground I have to resort to bow hunting state forest land here in Pennsylvania. As if putting my body to the test with early mornings and hiking back in to my hunting spot isn’t bad enough, my truck also gets put to the test. You see it takes 45 minutes of highway travel and the 15 minutes of severe off road conditions to get where i’m going which is no easy trek for any vehicle especially one that just cracked the 240,000 mile mark. That right 240,000 miles!!!
It still amazes me that my truck is still carrying deer off that mountain for me and it has even brought home my son’s first buck last year!! Every day I think may be the last for my truck but it just keeps going and I just hope that when it finally does go that I will find another one just as reliable. I know as long as I buy a ford I will always have a reliable truck. Thanks Ford!! Mark Reitenbach, Sunbury PA
