My Accident
JUL

Driving home from work in October 2009 at about 10 PM another driver lost control of their car..spun and hit me head on on the highway. I was driving my 06 F150 and was very thankful I was. The airbag deployed ..the truck stopped..and I was terrified. It seemed so surreal. Everything after that seemed to happen in a second. A few days after the accident my family sent me pictures of my truck and the other vehicle..my truck had major front end damage but I had survived the accident . I believe the reason is because of my F150. The other vehicle…a complete total. When my husband and I bought our new Ford truck we had friends that made all the old Ford jokes about how they aren’t real trucks or how we could spend many days sitting on the side of the road with our new Ford truck. They aren’t laughing or making jokes anymore in fact…. they all agree that my F150 saved my life !!! There are alot of choices in trucks these days …but not a day goes by that I don’t think about that night and what could have been…had I not been in my F150. So thank you Ford !! Thank you for your dedication to quality engineering and safety features on your vehicles. My husband, my children and myself are forever loyal Ford customers.

Your Ideas
I am not an engineer or designer, my idea is due to deaths with children left in the back of the car.  why can't you have a safety seat in the back where the child car seat would be by weight as you do in the front of the car with weight.  The air bag in the front shuts off by the weight of the person, why cant there be a sensor in the back seat doing the reverse.  The sensor knows there is something in the seat but it is light in weight, so before you can lock the doors or an alarm goes off informing you there is something in the back seat of the car.  It could be included in a package or standard. just a thought I hate hearing the news about people leaving their children or pets in the car accidently.
