On 3/4/10 I was woken up by a police officer knocking on my door at 3:00 in the morning. He told me that my truck was damaged by a car fire that was about 12 to 15 feet away from my truck. Don’t worry I didn’t freak out, which surprised me. I mean I just got the truck in Oct of 09. It had 8500 miles on it and I totally loved the color. Well back to the story, so I got dressed and headed down to the parking lot thinking that at least one side was probably scorched by the fire. Walking up to it I didn’t see anything, it had to be pointed out to me. The head light, mirror, plastic on the doors, my bumper, and my F-150 logo were damaged. I was amazed that the paint held up at all. I touched the hood and it was very warm. The fire totally destroyed the car that was initially set on fire. You got to love those ex-boyfriends. The car on the other side had paint damage on it.
I got a rental while my truck was being fixed it was a Chevy Silverado with less than 6000 miles on it. It didn’t handle very well and the shocks where terrible. Needless to say by the time I got my truck back I was ready for it. Now I feel like I have a brand new truck again, the handling, shocks, and engine itself is 10 times better than the Chevy I drove around.
I am very impressed with my truck and when the time comes or if it comes I am defiantly going to get another ford truck. I do feel lucky that I still have my truck because now I know it is going to be a keeper.
