I was given a chance to start over from a bad divorce. My mom financed a used 1989 F150, SC, XLT, for me. I was headed to court to finalize the divorce, when the motor started to knock & smoke. I stopped and checked the oil and new something was seriously wrong. It ran good enough to finish and get home. The mechanic advised me that it threw a rod and ruined the motor. It took $3000,00. to put a longblock in my truck. The mechanic showed me; who ever owned the truck before me, never changed the oil. At least 1 inch of Sludge in motor. I love this truck, but had to sell it, to pay for cancer treatments In all of my Fords, (14) I loved this one most.
