As you might already know, on October 29th many low-lying seaside areas in South County, RI were flooded and ravaged by Hurricane Sandy as the super-storm roared ashore in Southern Rhode Island. I personally had two large trees fall on and badly damage the roof of my home, and howling winds tore down all power and phone lines that lead to my property. Responding quickly, I took action and evacuated my family and golden retriever to higher and safer ground in my 2012 F-150 Lariat. Once they were safely taken care of, I returned to town as I heard many stories of people trapped in their homes fearing downed power lines, fallen trees, and surging floodwaters. As other vehicles were left on the road disabled by water, mud, rocks, and beach sand, the big 5.0 growled mightily to life and powered my A/T Goodyears through all mother nature could throw at them. I want you to know that your FORD F-150 helped come to the aid of a good many people on a day that tested many a man and machine’s endurance, fortitude, and willpower. Because my truck is Built Ford Tough, I was able to evacuate my family, clear debris, and come to the aid of others for evacuation / food / water delivery. I just wanted to thank FoMoCo and the good people of Deerfield, MI for constructing such a mighty machine, and for helping play an important role for so many people on that fateful October day.
“I wish to have no connection with any ship that does not sail fast; for I intend to go in harm’s way.” – John Paul Jones
Perhaps this old quote may still apply to American craftmanship and machinery to this day….
