I Was A Ford Hater

Growing up my family avoided owning a Ford like the plague. As far as I can find out it was just a personal preference of my parents who as far as I remember bought nothing but non-Ford vehicles. Allthat changed about 6 years ago. I needed a low priced pick-up and was looking all over for a steal. I ended up buying a 89 F-150 that had 185,000 miles on it for $500.00 figuring it never had to go far and for $500.00 how could I go wrong.
I ended up driving that F-150 for another 5 years and sold it for the original $500.00 I paid when it had 320,000 miles on it. I came to love that truck. My son who just recently purchased his own first vehicle was looking for advice and all I could do was tell him how fantastic and reliable my Ford had been. He came home with a Mustang. Not worth much for hauling unless it is your lady friend who is being hauled but it was a Ford and that was all that counts.

I am now a loyal Ford man and not just because of personal experience. I also respect the fact that Ford is an American Company. The last of a dying breed. When all the others were going broke and crying for help from Uncle Sam Ford continued on its own and weathered the storm.

Ford is loyal to America and as an American I am loyal to Ford.
