How My Dad Taught Me

I was 9 years old and my dad was turning me into a ford motorhead. I was spending my summer at my dads shop, profab motorsports. He was teaching me all about fords , cars and trucks. I taught myself to hate chevys and when i say that i mean despise them . So the summer went by and about half way through he bought a ford ranger and was going to fix it up and going sell it . Oh but that was not going to fly with me i begged and pleaded to keep that truck and what do you know happened i got to keep it . It was but ugly, so i had to sand it and sand it a lot. So the last race of the season came up and i was not done with it so dad and his friend craig finished sanding the truck with a DA and painted it at three in the morning in the alley with a flashlight. Then the next day they brought it to the races and i was so happy that i was jumping around because i didn’t know. So that’s what started me on fords and that’s the way it will always be…

I have a friend who drives an S10 that is almost 30 years old (1985) with a little inline 4 diesel. It gets almost 40MPG. I myself drive a 2001 4x4 ranger, and am going to continue running it into the ground until someone smartens up and actually produces a light pick up truck people will actually be able to afford to drive in 5 years. I believe there is a market in the US/Canada for small pick-ups, alas we've been brainwashed to believe we need large trucks. Its like putting a bunch of people into a farmers market and saying there isn't a market for candy. Give people what they want. Give them the global ranger.
