Ford F-150 Beats Chevy In Mileage Driven

I own a 1997 Ford F150 flair side pickup that has been my baby since purchase in March 1997. I am a small business owner as well as a hockey dad and the trunk has driven us from Virginia to Canada and many points in between. This weekend on a college hockey trip to see my son play the truck exceeded 416,000 miles. This is quite an accomplishment on the original engine without ANY engine work. I had in those miles the transmission redone once and the rear end done once, as I used to tow a 17ft boat for 10 years to a vacation spot in Pa. To hear Chevy owners brag about the miles they have driven makes me wonder why Ford does not show they same type of owners who love and cherish their trucks. I now am looking to have the engine replaced and start to fully restore the vehicle as I continue to drive it daily. When people ask about the best vehicle I have ever owned without a doubt I tell them a FORD F150.

THANK YOU FORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brandon Lauber My dad bought a brand new truck in 1977. He special ordered a F250 4x4 High Boy. 351M with a 4speed. It was used as his everyday driver, and his work truck all its life. It had a plow on it most of its life till he gave it to me in 2001. He hauled a 16ft flat bed trailer with it to pick up Ford tractors that we work on at our dealership. The truck has over 194,000 miles with the original clutch! Still has some of the original U-joints. Its had a waterpump put on it and thats it. Never even had the valves adjusted. It can sit for months and that ole truck will fire right up. It has never let me down. I still get compliments on it since its so big and has a roll bar with lights and dual smoke stacks. I still use it as my wood hauling truck. Its beat up pretty good and rusty but I would never get rid of this truck! It means way too much to me. I will restore it one of these days. I just bought a 1999 F250 ext cab 4x4 diesel with 242,000 miles on it and doesnt leak a drop of oil and still looks great. This new truck will take some of the strain off of my old truck. Im a big Ford guy thats all I drive. I even have a Ford tatoo on me. I bleed blue and will never buy anything but Fords. Built Ford Tough! This is FORD COUNTRY!! NO BAILOUT NEEDED!

Albert McDannel I own 2003 F-250 Super Duty with the 6.0 diesel engine. I only have 47,000 miles on it, but have not had any problems with it; other than the water seperatior drain plug being "frozen Up". I pull a 27 ft. travel trailer on summer trips to campgrounds in the area, and the truck handles the pull without problem. If it keeps doing the job it's doing, I'll keep this truck FOREVER!! Thanks Ford!
