In Summer ‘13, My girlfriend and I decided to skip the planes, and the islands for our holiday and take our vehicle on the road. We ended up going to Seattle, Vancouver, Victoria & Penticton. This spring, my now fiance and I decided, let’s take that a little further. We set off in July with our destinations marked, and hotels booked. San Francisco, Anaheim, Los Angeles, Seattle, Vancouver with a few rest stops in small usa towns along the way. We threw our suitcases in the back of the truck, and left our home in Calgary, Alberta in the afternoon and began our 17 day trip through four states, and two provinces.
We’ve been fortunate enough to have gone on a lot of really cool holidays, and visit a lot of really cool places. But, this vacation was the best. We were able to see so many different things we’d otherwise miss had we not decided to drive. When we were planning the trip, it just seemed unfathomable to go that kind of distance in the vehicle, and not go crazy, let alone even make it. But, we did. Some of the best times we had on the holidays were in the truck just talking, listening to music, enjoying the scenery. All things that would not have been possible to do in a four hour plane ride, or a rental car, or any other vehicle.
We sometimes drove eleven hours in a day, just to reach our destination and have more time to spend in the big cities, we drove 250 miles through 110 degrees fahrenheit, which, being from Canada made this a new expereince, and we had absolutely no problems, thanks to the amazing machine we were fortunate enough to be driving in. Regardless of the conditions outside, or where we were, on the interstate freeways, or the freeways in the heart of Los Angeles, The f150 remained reliable, comfortable and enabled some of the best memories on our holidays.
At the end of our trip, we crossed many different parts of the world, I didn’t think I’d have the opportunity to see, we spent nearly 100 hours in the truck over 17 days, and nearly 8,000 kilometres were put on in 17 days. Without an issue. Thank you Ford for this opportunity. We already our planning our Summer ‘15 road trip, this time as husband and wife, and can not wait to see where the road will take us.
