I bought a 2001 F150 4.2 V6 XL in Nov of 2000. This truck has been my primary vehicle. I have put over 411,000 miles on this truck. The engine has never been touched. I had a partial clutch put in at 165,000 and they told me I might get another 30,000 before I would have to have the entire clutch replace. Well, that was 246,000 miles ago and haven’t touched it since. Now I will admit over the last couple years I’ve had to replace the normal things. I just replace the serpentine belt at 390,000. It didn’t brake I just thought I’d better replace. Still has original water pump as well. Started showing a little rust over the last few years as well. I would love to have a new Ford but my situation won’t allow that at this time. It’s not running too great right now and it showed 8 codes on it when i checked it at a local auto parts store, but all in all I could not have asked for a better truck. This truck lives up to ‘The best never rest’. Thank you Ford!
