1998 4.6l F-150 Turns 300,000 Still New

My f-150 just turned 300,000 on the original motor and transmission. The trans just had its FIRST service less than 10,000 miles ago. Still getting 20MPG on the freeway, shifting smooth as silk, all features still work. ZERO issues with the truck thus far. Oil changed every 3,000 miles with 5w-20 Motorcraft oil. When Ford makes trucks this good, how can i justify replacing it for a new one?? Plan on taking her to 500,000!

Ken P I've got the same truck, 4X4 SC short bed, 4.6 with 81k on the clock. I've had a lot of trucks, it's been one of the best.

Big Rod I have close to 170,000 on my Silver 1998 F150 super cab, 4X4 with 4.6 V8 & automatic I have replaced the front end & the radiator, had the transmission rebuilt but the eng. runs like new truck.

Bonnie H I too have a 1998 white F-150 it only has 137,000 mi on it. I still get MANY compliments on my truck. I think this body style is Ford's BEST!! I wish FORD would bring back this body style, after all they brought back the Mustang....why not this F- series? I see many fords on the road and many fords at construction sites. in fact around here (NW) most of the trucks on construction sites are fords. I would just LOVE to see this body style come back. This F-series (1998-2003) has the best body lines! I love my truck !
