Tow Mater
APR
29

I’ve been driving the same rusty beat to hell truck since I was 17. Me and my dad (an International diesel tech) rebuilt the 7.3 idi and installed an ATS turbo and dropped it in the rustiest trust you’ll ever see driving down the road. My friends named it “Mater” like the truck from Cars, and the name stuck. In the time I’ve had, it has left me no where, its burned up 3 pair of rear tires, 2 clutches, hauled a lot of horses and facilitated many bonfires out back in the sticks. The inner fenders are falling off, both rocker panels are gone, the cab is held together by street sign post and some welding, the doors don’t close unless you roll down the window and lift the door, but it does all the things I shouldn’t ask it to do. Within a month I’ll be pulling the engine, bolting on a new ZF-5 transmission with a Luk clutch, and dropping it into the truck I’m building with all southern rust free parts. I’d be willing to bet this truck will keep doing what its been doing for another 24 years. Thanks ford for my best iron oxide coated friend!
