My idea is a suggestion. Why don't Ford Motor Company manufacture a mid-sized pick-up truck or a class of pick-up truck just under the F-150 series but bigger than the Ford Ranger. Not all consumers who like Ford trucks want to buy one for work. Like myself, there are consumers who like pick-up trucks for its exterior styling, for basic transportation, durability, fuel economy, for storing, stowing, and hauling things, and a comfortable ride.
There are consumers who want 4 by 4 capability in a pick-up truck but prefer not to use an assist handle to enter the pick-up truck because the truck cab is to high up. This is a problem for elderly people or people with health issues to enter the truck cab. This is why a mid-sized F-150 pick-up truck would be ideal. Or, putting one of the (4) F-150 engines in a new model pick-up truck slightly wider than the size of the discontinued Ford Explorer Sport Trac. This way you will get increased sells in pick-up trucks. Those consumers who need a pick-up truck for work purposes, (i.e. construction work) can buy a F-150 and those consumers who want a pick-up truck less the size of a F-150 can buy the new model pick-up truck. My name is Duane Porter and I approve this suggestion.
