The Bronco Ii That Keeps Buckin'
SEP

I grew up at our local Ford Dealership as my dad was the service manager there for years and he drove a ‘84 Bronco II, which stayed in the family for years (until my folks traded for a 92 Ford Explorer). When I reached driving age the only vehicle I wanted was a Bronco II to relive the fun I had as a child going places with my dad, hunting, fishing, etc. I found a 1986 Bronco II Eddie Bauer for sale in great condition and fairly priced. After two weeks, some friends and I flipped and rolled it. We unhooked our seat belts and climbed through the driver-side side glass area (glass busted out). We flipped it back on its wheels and called my dad who came out, checked everything, and drove it to the dealership where we started working on it right away. After 6 months of actual blood, sweat, and tears, my dad drove it home where it was waiting for me after a school trip. That was 12 years ago. My father has since past away due to cancer and I still drive the same 86 Bronco II as my daily driver. I get constant compliments and people telling me how much fun they had in their Bronco II’s and how they wished they still had it. On mine, the powertrain is all stock, the transmission was rebuilt Feb. 2012. It has a 3-inch suspension lift, and KC HiLites mounted on top. If something ever goes wrong with it, it is fixed. I am the collision center manager at Stuteville Ford of Tahlequah, the same dealership my father worked at when it was named Greenhaw-Eddings Ford. My wife and i now have a 2 year old little boy and I sometimes wonder what his Ford story will be…
