Choosing An Edge Was All My Idea

Our family hadn’t purchased a new car in over 12 years. It was about time to upgrade and since this car was going to be primarily for my use, my husband told me I could pick it out. Last November, I attended BlogWorld in Los Angeles, and enthusiastically listened to Ford Executive, Jim Farley, talk about the “new” Ford company. When I got home, I told my husband I wanted to get a Ford Edge and he replied, “There is no way I am buying a Ford.” I told him he just needed to be reintroduced to the Ford brand like I had and he would change his mind. For my birthday in January, my husband asked what I wanted to do and I said, “Test drive a Ford Edge.” He reluctantly agreed and ended up being totally impressed with the vehicle. For the next few months I did my research. i went on line, compared prices, features, and styles and was settled on the exact Ford Edge to purchase. On Memorial Day weekend, we were finally able to purchase the car of my dreams: a 2013 Ford Edge SEL. Thank you Mr. Farley for setting me on my journey of getting a car that I absolutely love.

Many more women and young drivers would prefer to drive trucks. Consider the amount of driving mothers (work, hockey-other sports, medical, shopping, and etc.) and most people living in northern and rural areas must do,  especially when travelling to other centres or larger centres. This usually means tens of thousands of kms per year. Driving a full-sized truck may not be a sound financial investment when one considers the price of gas in conjunction with number of km driven per year. Many women instead choose SUVs when they would rather be driving a truck. My idea is to take the fantastic Ford truck and design (bring back) a midsize truck with a performance motor which consumes less gas but provides power and reliability including pulling power for those such as farmers or even campers. This will meet the needs of all those who find a full size truck does not fit their budget or is excessive. I live in Northern Canada and purchased an Edge in June, parked it until the end of August, and between then and now March 6, have clocked approximately 30,000 km. Produce this truck and I'll try it out for you, but give us a mid-sized truck, (not a small truck like the Ranger) something we can feel safe in particularly since our roads are driven mostly by full sized trucks and 18 wheelers.
