I am a Middle School World Language teacher in the wilds of Connecticut. I teach French and Spanish to 6th, 7th and 8th grade students. The fun really gets rolling when I get to to Transportation Unit and use my Mustangs as models for the students! I currently own a 69 GT sports roof, a 68 convertible, and an 05 Tasca Cobra Jet GT, which dutifully “teach” the students the difference between a “Le klaxon” to a “L’embrayage”. Using Ford Mustangs are so much more memorable than a hum-drum sedan! I even have a Mustang body parts poster that features the 2010 Mustang that I bought from my World language magazine! After class, I coach soccer and softball, and use my Cobra Jet to haul the team around to various functions; bats, soccer balls, cleats and all! At the Middle School Spring dance, the students take their “prom ” picture in my 68 convertible, and basically explore the old car and beep its horn non-stop! I find fingerprints the rest of the summer. The children at the school expect my ‘Jet and ‘vert to be there, it’s a rite of 8th grade passage to sit in them. The parents love it. I hope I’ve created Ford fans for life with these little experiences.
