in 2006 i graduated from high school and was given $800 to go out and find my own car. the only thing i could find in my price range was an old sun faded 92 escort 5 door. it was leaking oil and coolant from multiple places but i bought it any way. a year later the car completely exploded, but i rebuilt the entire engine on my own buying parts every pay check. in 2009 i was accepted to UCSB and decided it was time for me to have a more reliable car to drive the 300 miles. i started looking for another car that was under $5,000, which was what i felt the monthly payments would be comfortable at. i was about to settle on a puke green 2006 focus and live my life in shame when i found a 2000 mustang. the mustang had been garaged its whole life and was the definition of clean. the old man cut me a deal selling it for $4,500. three years later the car is now payed off and still running like a champion race horse. thank you ford
