My Dream Car

When I was young my dream car was a 1969 Mustang Mach I, it was a beauty blue with silver details and white interior. Then came my family and the mustang was traded for a van in order to carry the whole family. Well my family is all grown up and I still longed to have that mustang. Well it was time for me to trade in my car it was giving me some problems and had quite a few miles on it so I went car shopping. Low and behold my journey took me to the local Ford dealer. And there she was what a beauty bright red with black leather seats and I fell in love again. Well the next day I was driving her home and have been driving her ever since and loving every minute of it. My kids call her my mid-life crisis, and I just call her mine.

I have a son who is currently deployed overseas in the U.S.Army. My son prior to departing for duty had saved his money for years  to buy his dream car, a 2013 Mustang GT. He makes every payment on this car without parents help. After he reported for duty, he has been deployed out of the country, his Mustang is parked in a garage, under a car cover. It gets started once a week and is driven about 70 miles a week to keep everything running right. It gets a bath and goes back under the cover. After looking at the car the other day,I came to the realization that while my son is deployed, his factory warranty the standard 3 year or 36000 mile is just wasting away. I then thought how many other military personnel would be affected with simular situations? Here is the idea, for service personnel who are deployed out of the United States that have a current factory warranty in effect, the warranty should be extended for the length of deployment. Deployments and or duty stations can easily be verified. The mileage part of the warranty would still apply, in the event the vehicle is driven by anyone other than the soldier. This would be a great marketing tool for Ford, and would actually be an honorabile act upon the company. Companies talk about discounts for troops and how they support them, but this is something that would benefit them, and could make the differance in a sale or not. This is truly a way to Thank these Men / Women for thier service to us citizens and our country !
