My little brother’s first car was an electric blue ‘67 Shelby GT 500. That 428 with it’s dual quads and four speeds was so powerful he didn’t even have to downshift to pass a lowly MG on a mountainous curving road somewhere in northern California. He never let me drive it and sold it in the 80s to pay for grad school. (That’s OK: I drove a 550-hp Jaguar XK-R last month.) Brother said he did not intend to replace it with a new one as he didn’t need the speeding tickets and he still lives in LA.
