Last year my daughter was 7 years old and we drove our 2008 Shelby sgt/sc all the way from Minnesota to Michigan for the Team Shelby Dearborn event which was in August, the event was such an awesome daddy daughter bonding time. We are doing it again this year but this time we are driving our 2013 Boss 302.
We will get to see a tour of Watson racing where the Boss 302s racecars are built, Roush racing, and a private car collection. The next day we will get to go on the Michigan proving grounds with the Boss, On Wednesday we will get to see the Piquette plant where the Model T’s were produced and later that evening will be doing some go-cart racing. On Thursday we will spend the entire day at the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield village. Greenfield village was our favorite part of the vacation last year, it actually is a town that Henry Ford had created by removing old historic buildings and moving them all to one area next to the museum. Greenfield village and the Henry Ford Museum was the highlights of our trip last year so we both are looking forward to it again this year. Then on Friday we will be at Mrt for a car show and later that evening we will be at a Dinner Banquet for the 50th Anniversary of the Mustang. On Saturday is the legendary Woodard Dream cruise and will be participating in Mustang Alley. Woodward dream cruise is the largest cruise of cars anywhere in the world. On Sunday we will be attending a huge car show at the Ford development center. It’s going to be one amazing week of bonding with my daughter and the Boss 302.
My daughter is also a huge One Direction fan and the band just so happens to be playing in Detroit at the Ford Field stadium that Saturday and Sunday so I decided to surprise her with two tickets for us to attend on Sunday night after the car show. Every year we take a few car vacations and have memories that will last a lifetime. It’s truly amazing how much fun a family can have in a Mustang. I know that someday that my two daughters will make memories with the Boss and the Shelby with thier children.
