Safety That Works
OCT

On his way home from work on a Friday evening, my husband’s 2008 Fusion was rear ended by a truck going over 50 miles per hour as he was stopped on an exit ramp from the highway. We were both amazed at how well constructed the Fusion was made, and how well it stood up to such a forceful impact. We could plainly see that the car took the impact the way it was designed to do, and the main body of the car stayed intact. My husband walked away from the crash with minor whip lash, but we were more impressed with the fact that the back seat did not crumple at all. Even if our 1 year old son had been in the back of the car with him, our son would have been soundly protected. We could not have asked for more from our car in regard to the safety of our family. The car ended up being a total loss, but neither him nor I hesitated when we had to replace his car, and now feel completely safe in a 2009 Fusion. Thanks for such a great product!

Fastback Thanks for sharing your amazing story. I too have 2008 Fusion and the single most important thing and the reason we picked this car is safety. This is testament to the time and thought that was put into the engineering of this and all new Fords.

I own a 2010 Fusion, and my wife owns a 2012 Fusion. I noticed when driving her car that the rear head rests stick up so high that the view in the rearview mirror is partially obstructed. In comparing the two cars, I found that the head rests in my car are recessed down into the seat and can be adjusted up to the proper height when needed, while her car has the bottom of the head rest sitting near flush to the top of the seatback. I believe returning to the previous design would increase the safety of the vehicle by eliminating this visibility issue.
