Going Strong !!!! Go Focus Go

My name is Donna R. Toro, back in 2005 I was Donna R. Velez. In 2005, I bought my 2005 Ford Focus, ZX3, SES from Scarsdale Ford in Scasdale, NY. I just want to say that my car is still going strong with 312,000 + miles on it, there is no typo here.

I live in Pennsylvania and commute to NYC Monday to Friday with this car. I love my Focus and I have been blessed with having such a wonderful car that takes care and protects me in my travels and I take care of her with frequent oil changes, and the necessary maintenance required.

I just want to say “Thank You” to Ford.
I am proud to be an Owner of such a wonderfully made vehicle.
Sincerely,
Ford Focus Owner -Donna R. Toro ( aka Donna R. Velez)
Albrightsville, PA 18210

My car has been broken into two times in this one week. First time was with a slim jim and very precise movements as indicated by 3 distinct mark on shiny door cover. Second was the well commented section in focus fanatics fan site using a paint scraper to pry door slightly then use a coat hanger to pull on handle. Factory car alarm did not even go off ever. Fixes are these two things We are in the 21st century and slim jim is possible.... Build a special cover the protects the entire door mechanism internal to stop slim jim from pulling on whatever unlocks it. Important to cover it entirely with something strong. Second fix is to move the door handle down the door under the curved bevel so coat hanger or other device has a terrible time getting to it. Change the direction so that the case they do get to it it must move in a very difficult direction. Next is to have the door handle need at least 5 pounds of force to open it. Second fix alternate is to add more force required, and may need to be more than 5 pounds of total force to do so. Other issue is Viper alarm systems tie into the existing system to use the sensors ont he door to go off when a non electronic lock is used. Hence slim jim and diy method above. If they can tie into this computer, why is the existing alarm not already doing this?
