Last Breath Of A Remarkable Vehicle
OCT

My parents purchased a 1988 Ford T-Bird from the showroom floor of our local dealership in 2009. I believe it had 6 miles on it. It was a beautiful light blue/gray, not to mention it had the V8 in it. My mom thought she was the coolest mom around with such a fast, good-looking car. She basically only drove it to morning breakfast with friends and grcoery shopping. As the years went by and the kids got older and started families of their own, she thought it was time to give this car to me, since I had admired it from the get go. At the time the vehicle was given to me, it only had 46,000 miles on it. And as you can guess, it was in immaculate condition. Dad was out waxing it I swear every weekend. I never had a single thing go wrong with this car since I have had it. Very dependable, and yes, I felt cool in it also. On July 16, 2010, coming home from work, a young man cut across three lanes of traffic and we collided at 35mph. As you can see by the picture, my girl didn’t take it too well. At the time of the accident, she only had 64,000 miles on it. She had many more years of life in her. A day or two after the accident, my mom and dad came to see me and the car. They were relieved that I had non-life threatening injuries…but I couldn’t help but notice that when they saw the car, they gasped and each one shed a tear for this remarkable car.
