Built Tough Even After A Fire

I grew up with Ford. My first memories are of me in my parent\’s Ford cars. My mom had a 1988 Ford T-Bird LX and my dad had a 1987 Bronco II.

One winter evening my mom and I where driving back home from the supermarket when all of a sudden we smelled something electrical burning. As we approached our driveway the car started beeping so my mom pulled in and park the car. When I got out of the car, I saw smoke coming from underneath the hood and orange flames. My mom popped the hood and the entire passenger-side of the engine was engulfed in flames.

It turns out the wires around the alternator caught fire. By the time the fire department came, my dad had put the fire out by putting snow on the engine. Insurance was able to cover the costs and repaired everything. That car ran for two more years and had about 250,000 miles on it until we donated it to a charity. It still amazes me to this day how the car was able to give us a warning signal that there was a fire.

If I had the money, I would\’ve kept it and completely restored it. I loved that car and that\’s why I\’m a Ford fan!
