1955 Mercury Monterey: An Original Survivor.
MAR
02

This is my 55′ mercury Monterey. I bought it from a house painter down the street 8 years ago and he had been driving it for the better part of 25 years. The car has never actually been garaged or stored thus its been in constant use since it was new. I drive it quite regularly. Despite its age and having never been fully restored, its starts and drives great. I always get tons of comments.

This can be a feature where the manufacturer can feed in some of the information's in the ECU for the overall durability and safety of the car, for example if one tries to rev its engine then the ECU doesn't allow it to rev above a particular rpm which would be specified by the manufacturer and so on.
