My husband was in telephone construction, and he and a friend drove to the site where they met a ride to the job. The friend had the 1952 Mainline Ford that I am writing about.
They were gone for about two weeks, maybe a little longer, and the weather had been -20 and lower while they were away. When they were brought back to the car, my husband assured the friend that the car would never start. The friend said that no, it would start and he wouldn’t even have to pump the gas. He didn’t even get into the car, just reached in from the open door, turned the key, and the car started right up.
How could you find a better story than that? Right?
