My Love Of Cars & It Started With A 1936 Ford
FEB
16

At age 13 (1964) I purchased a 1936 Ford Tudor sedan, which is how I learned to drive using the fields on our family property. When I reached age 16 I was the proud owner of a 1964 Red Galaxie Convertible and a 1954 2 door Customline. I worked two jobs so I could afford both of my Fords. Two years later my younger brother needed a car so I sold the Galaxie to him and bought a 1964 Black Galaxie XL Hardtop, 390 with a 4 speed, it was a fast machine. My first new Ford was a 1972 Gran Torino Sport, and a new 1975 Maverick Grabber. I sold the Torino in 1976 with over 100,000 miles on the odometer. I also owned 1976 Maverick 4 door. In between all the Fords I have had other cars and most have been great vehicles but I missed having a convertible. Five years ago I purchased a 1992 1/2 Mustang LX Limited Convertible, only 2,196 were made so this LX has been doing the car show circuit and has won many trophies.
