My First Ford--a 1956 Customline
MAY
07

My grandfather bought the 1956 Customline new. When he died, my grandmother gave it to my dad, who drove it to & from work for years. In 1970, as a high school graduation present, he sold it to me for $100. I installed mag wheels & a floor shifter, as well has having the engine rebuilt & adding a racing cam, 4 barrel, and dual exhausts with glass packs. I drove it for many years & even won a trophy at the drag strip racing it. I’ve been a diehard Ford man ever since, having restored several old ones in addition to buying new ones. Attached is a picture of my Cobra Roadster replica that I built in 1997 & still own & drive. I’m on my 5th Mustang, a 2011 GT 5.0. Best car I’ve ever owed, hands down.
