Two things happened in my life in 1987. I adopted a daughter, 1 day old, and shortly after I bought a new Toyota Corolla. Within a couple of months, I was driving with my daughter from work to home, and my steering went out. I had absolutely no control of my wheel. Luckily I was only going about 20 miles an hr. I hate to think of what would have happened if I had been on the freeway. So I had the Toyota towed in, and they had to order the steering column part from Japan. It took 6 weeks, and they didn’t even offer me a car. The very day I got that car back, I went to Matthews Curry Ford and traded that car in on a Ford Probe. I took a huge money loss, but I would never trust the safety of Toyota or that Corolla again. I drove that Probe for 11 years, and it had no major work done to it. In 2000, I traded it for a new Mercury Cougar.. That child I adopted in 1987 is now 22 and she is still driving the Cougar. It has over 150,000 miles and also has had no major problems. The moral of this little story is simple. Buy Ford and keep your family safe.
