Nowadays a car alarm doesn't actually alarm anyone. No one pays attention to it. What if when pulling the handle of a locked vehicle something else happened? Or in addition to the alarm? What if trying to break into the car by pulling the handle (or doing anything that would normally set off the alarm) gave a small shock? Something similar to a static shock when you touch a grocery cart in a dry warehouse store. I'm not sure if this is entirely possible, but something similar or physical to deter a robber I think is better than an alarm. Honestly, when a car alarm goes of most people think someone accidentally hit their button, not that there's actually anything to be alarmed about. Maybe theives would give up if each time they tried to enter they were stung or shocked?
